Amish Dining Room - Classic Shaker Dining Room
Although Shaker furniture has many of the features of Amish-Crafted furniture in the time-honored methods used in family workshops, the one noticeable difference is that whereas the Amish often over-build, using heavier dimensions than needed (and this often serving as a plus), the Shakers tended toward more elegant designs and therefore built more sparingly. Their styles are famous for their graceful curves and lack of sharp edges. This makes the furniture as pleasing to the eye as it is to the body. As the Shaker tune alludes, "tis a gift to be simple . . ." and that pretty much summarizes the furniture designs as well. At House of Oak & Sofas, we sell Amish-crafted interpretations of that simplicity; the style is obvious, but sometimes the added weight of the piece is also obvious.
The Classic Shaker Dining Room collection offers tables in a variety of sizes, and hutches with 2, 3, and 4 doors. A corner hutch, and a sideboard are also available. This collection is available in solid oak, cherry, maple, Quartersawn oak, and hickory. Pictured in Cherry finish.
